Patterns of dendrites are quite variable from one neuronal type to another. Although this morphological diversity contributes distinct physiological property of each type, how this is achieved in development have not been addressed. I am studying cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying diversity of dendritic patterns using Drosophila sensory neurons as a model system.
